What’s New in the Garden

First Saturday of Each Month, 11:00 am - Noon

Each month, Visitor Services Supervisor Hilary will lead a stroll through the garden to explore new sights and sounds as well as checking up on some of the prior months observations.  The “What’s new in the garden” exploratory walks are designed to encourage curiosity and wonderment through the senses for kids and their family.

Children will get a sense of the quiet vibrancy, the abundant beauty and seasonal changes the garden has to offer. These walks will help children develop observational skills, boost confidence and help create a caring love of the natural world around us.

Drop-ins are welcome, but we encourage participants to return every month to track the changes within a season. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

About Tour Leader Hilary

Hilary has worked in the garden for three years. She studied horticultural therapy and taught flower arranging and wreath making for kids.

At Crystal Springs, Hilary developed the kids treasure hunt activity, available at the gatehouse, and has worked with a variety of kids over the years in encouraging thoughtful and peaceful connections with nature.
